    Infected by Avian Influenza, Hundreds of Poultry Owned by Salatiga Residents Dead

    Salatiga City Agricultural Service official when spraying disinvektan around poultry cages that died due to bird flu.

    SALATIGA - Hundreds of poultry consisting of about 80 chickens, 50 ducks and 4 swans belonging to a number of residents of RW 05 Cabean, Mangunsari Village, Sidomukti District, Salatiga died suddenly. It is suspected that hundreds of birds died due to infection with the H5N1 virus or bird flu.

    Tens of dead birds were one of them belonged to Komari. But until now, there has been no indication the virus is transmitted to humans. This case has also been reported and handled by the Salatiga City Agriculture Office.

    "From the results of rapid tests of dead birds consisting of chickens, geese and ducks there were positive infected with the H5N1 virus or bird flu," said Acting Head of the Agriculture Office of Salatiga City Mustain Soeradi, Monday (8/19/2019).
