Jakarta. The World Health Organization /WHO/ confirmed that a one-year-old girl , who died in Indonesia was infected with the bird flu virus, AFP reported.

Authorities in Indonesia announced that a one-year-old girl has died as a result of bird-flu infection in a hospital in the west part of the capital Jakarta. According to the information, additional tests were expected to prove whether the child was infected with the highly pathogenic H5N12 strain of the virus.
The girl died on 23 March, shortly after she was received in hospital in Jakarta. So far 23 death cases resulting from bird flu have been confirmed in Indonesia.
