Suspected bird flu outbreak in Pacitan

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PACITAN - suspected outbreak of bird flu re-emerged in a number of areas in Pacitan, East Java.
Head of Animal Health in the Department of Food and Farming Pacitan, Fathur Rozi, Wednesday said that currently there are two villages which have been confirmed infected with the deadly virus that usually attacks the avian residents.
"The information that we received while and have been followed up there around 150 chickens owned by residents in the Village and Village Nanggungan Ploso, Pacitan District, died suddenly. A similar case also we find in the Village Jatimalang, District Arjosari at about the same time," he asserted.
According to him, the institute has conducted preparedness by setting up a number of vaccine and disinfectant fluid in sufficient quantity.
He also asserted that in order to prevent the spread of the deadly virus, it has been trying to do the spraying on bird cages that allegedly have been infected with bird flu virus.
Well preventive action is done in a massive response at each point of concentration of the discovery of bird flu cases in poultry residents up to a radius of 100 meters more.
In addition, the supervision of the chicken pieces from outside the region also strengthened, including in the area of shelter and poultry bags.
Fathur Rozi admit, all this needs chicken meat consumption in Pacitan districts still rely on supply from outside the area, such as, Roxburgh, Tulungagung, Wonogiri, and Solo.
