Bird FLU CASE STATEMENTS TO JUNE 2010
Throughout May s.d. June 2010 there is one additional positive cases of bird flu (H5N1), on behalf of TFA (34 years, F), residents of Jakarta. Positively infected by H5N1 cases were reported according to the examination Laboratory Research Center for Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Research and Development Agency dated June 4, 2010.
Patients with onset of illness on May 25, 2010 with symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of nausea, and muscle aches. Patients treated on 27 May to private practice. A day later to go to private hospitals in Tangerang. During the treatment in hospital, the patient's condition continued to deteriorate with symptoms of severe pneumonia. June 1, the patient was referred to Tangerang General Hospital and died on the same day.
Risk factors, before getting sick, caring for ornamental plants TFA is often beside the house. In addition TFA also often visited in-law's house in the city of Tangerang, which is endemic bird flu in poultry.
Based on observations, not found cases of influenza like illness (ILI) on all contacts with both the case of household contact, neighbors and medical personnel.
With the addition of one case, the cumulative number of bird flu in Indonesia since 2005 until June 2010 was 166 cases with 137 deaths.
Director General of Disease Control and Environmental Health Prof. dr. Tjandra Yoga Aditama as the focal point of the IHR (International Health Regulation) has also informed about the cases to the WHO.

Sepanjang bulan Mei s.d. Juni 2010 terdapat tambahan satu kasus positif flu burung (H5N1), atas nama TFA (34 tahun, P), warga DKI Jakarta. Kasus dilaporkan positif terinfeksi H5N1 berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan Laboratorium Pusat Penelitian Biomedis dan Farmasi Badan Litbangkes tanggal 4 Juni 2010.
Penderita mulai sakit tanggal 25 Mei 2010 dengan gejala demam, batuk, sesak mual, dan nyeri otot. Penderita berobat tanggal 27 Mei ke praktek swasta. Sehari kemudian berobat ke RS swasta di Tangerang. Selama dirawat di RS, kondisi pasien makin memburuk dengan gejala pneumonia berat. Tanggal 1 Juni pasien dirujuk ke RSUD Tangerang dan meninggal pada hari yang sama.
Faktor risiko, sebelum sakit TFA sering merawat tanaman hias di samping rumah. Selain itu TFA juga sering berkunjung di rumah mertuanya di Kota Tangerang yang merupakan daerah endemis Flu Burung pada unggas.
Berdasarkan observasi, tidak diketemukan kasus influenza like illness (ILI) pada semua kontak dengan kasus baik kontak serumah, tetangga dan tenaga medis.
Dengan tambahan satu kasus ini, jumlah kumulatif Flu Burung di Indonesia sejak tahun 2005 sampai dengan Juni 2010 adalah 166 kasus dengan 137 kematian.
