DENPASAR--MI: Sampel darah lima pasien suspect flu burung (H5N1) yang kini dirawat di Rumah Sakit (RS) Sanglah Denpasar, Bali, dikirim ke Jakartal untuk memastikan apakah kelima orang itu positif terjangkit flu burung.

"Kami sudah kirim sampel darahnya ke Jakarta, jadi tinggal menunggu hasilnya apakah nanti dinyatakan positif atau negatif," kata Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Bali dr Nyoman Suteja di Denpasar, Kamis (7/1). Namun Suteja tidak merinci nama-nama kelima pasien tersebut.

Tapinya, dari gejala yang ditunjukkan pasien tersebut belum kuat mengarah ke flu burung. Pasalnya, belakangan ini tengah terjadi perubahan cuaca sehingga memengaruhi kondisi kesehatan seseorang.

Gejalanya yang ditunjukkan sangat umum, antara lain suhu badan naik, dan sesak napas. Meski begitu, ia tetap tidak mau ambil risiko dan tidak segera meneliti sampel darah sebagai langkah antisipasi hal-hal yang tak diinginkan. "Jadi, mereka para pasien tetap dirawat di ruang isolasi," ujar Suteja.

Pasien susfect flu burung yang masuk ke RS Sanglah, Selasa (6/1), berinisial WR, 65, asal Banjarangkan, Kabupaten Klungkung. WR dicurigai terinfeksi virus H5N1 itu menyusul kematian sejumlah ayam di sekitar tempat tinggalnya secara mendadak.

Berdasarkan catatan, sejak munculnya kasus flu burung di Bali, dari sekian pasien yang pernah dirawat di RS Sanglah dua di antaranya meninggal pada 2007. Keduanya berasal dari kabupaten Tabanan dan Jembrana. (RS/OL-01)
