Swine Flu Claims Over 250 Lives in India This Year; Rajasthan Records Maximum Deaths
Rajasthan has recorded the maximum 96 deaths and 2,706 H1N1 virus cases till Thursday, followed by Gujarat which recorded 54 deaths and 1,187 cases, according to a Union health ministry data.

Swine flu claims 312 lives across India, over 9,000 infected: Govt
Swine flu has affected 9,367 people in the country till Sunday with Rajasthan reporting 107 deaths and 2,941 cases of infects, followed by Gujarat at 55 deaths and 1,431 people being infected, showed the data.

605 people have died of swine flu in 2019 so far: Health Ministry

India is ignoring other types of influenza with its focus on swine flu
Cases of H3N2 and influenza B are not as carefully reported as cases of H1N1. Even H1N1 may be undercounted.

But because it does not conduct countrywide surveillance for other types of influenza, cases of influenza B and H3N2 are not as carefully reported as cases of H1N1, say researchers, who also believe that H1N1 cases may be undercounted.
