Swine flu: From 1 in ?14 to 146 cases, 16 deaths this year
                  Bindiya Chari,TNN | Sep 16, 2015, 02.00 AM IST

PANAJI: From just one case of swine flu reported last year, to 146 cases recorded since January this year, Goa has also reported 16 swine flu-related deaths, including one just last week. Of these 16 deaths, two were patients referred to the Goa medical college (GMC) and hospital, Bambolim, from Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra.

Most of the swine flu cases reported so far are from the local population and have included four children. From January to March it was noticed that those with swine flu had a travel history, something that patients post-March did not necessarily have, showing that the disease had localized.
                  ...
Last week's death case, for instance, was of a local man who was taken to the hospital in a very critical condition. "He died within an hour of being admitted," said Betodkar.
