2 Die of Swine Flu in Manipal

CHITRADURGA/BIDAR,6th Feb: A 48-year-old woman died of Swine flu at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal (Udupi district) on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Latha, a resident of Bagenal village in Chitradurga. According to District Health Officer (DHO) Dr S R Mahalingappa, the victim was admitted to a private hospital here on January 26 and was shifted to a super speciality hospital in Davangere on January 31. She was admitted to the Kasturba Hospital on February 2. The next day, she was diagnosed with Swine flu and succumbed on February 4.

Tahsildar dies of H1N1
A man has died of H1N1 and related complications, according to the district surveillance office for detection of communicable diseases here on Thursday.
Baburao Khande, 52, was suffering from lung infection and cardiac disease. He died in a private hospital in Hyderabad on February 2.
He was also a long-term diabetic. His sputum samples were sent to the Kasturba Medical College in Manipal for test.

24 confirmed H1N1 cases in Karnataka
Fifteen of these cases have been reported in BBMP limits
After dengue and other vector-borne diseases, H1N1 cases are now being reported in the city.
Fifteen of the 24 confirmed H1N1 cases in the State, reported from January 1 till date, have been from Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits.
