Doctor booked for negligence

Rewari, Oct 31 (PTI) A doctor here has been booked for allegedly causing the death of a patient due to negligence, police said today.
Following a complaint lodged by one Umesh Kataria, the husband of the deceased Neetu Kataria (30) of Mohalla Kaziwara here, police registered a case of causing death by negligence under section 304-A of the IPC against Mitra Saxena, obstetrics and gynaecology specialist at a private hospital here.
Neetu had died in a Gurgaon hospital yesterday morning where she was shifted after being initially treated by Saxena.
Neetu, who was seven-months pregnant and suffering from abdominal pain was admitted to the Rewari hospital on October 24.
Mitra told reporters here that she was given "proper" treatment for premature labour and when she was deemed fit for discharge, she developed symptoms of upper respiratory infection and fever in the morning of October 27.
