    37-year-old man succumbs to swine flu

    INDORE: A 37-year-old man succumbed to swine flu at a private hospital here on Tuesday afternoon.

    According to the health department, a resident of Nasik district (Maharasthra) who was suffering from cough and cold, came to the city with his in-laws on June 2. The patient had visited Robert Nursing Home on June 7 where he underwent treatment for Pneumonia. However, the patient did not show any signs of improvement and was then referred to CHL Hospital on June 11.


    13 suspected swine flu cases were reported in the city since January. Out of which, swab test confirmed one as H1N1 positive and the patient died on Tuesday. Meanwhile, two confirmed cases of dengue were also reported within a fortnight, who were discharged after treatment, health department officials said.

      Third Patient Tests Positive For Swine Flu in Indore

      Indore: With a 32-year-old woman at a local hospital testing positive for the H1N1 virus, the number of patients infected with swine flu in Indore this year has risen to three, an official said today.

      The woman was admitted to a private hospital on August 18. Her swab samples were sent for testing which confirmed that she was suffering from swine flu, said Dr G L Sodhi, the district unit in-charge of Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP).

      There has been a slight improvement in the woman's condition, he said.

      This year, there have been three cases of swine flu in the district. The two other patients had earlier succumbed to the virus, Dr Sodhi said.

      With a 32-year-old woman at a local hospital testing positive for the H1N1 virus, the number of patients infected with swine flu in Indore this year has risen to three, an official said today.

        Indore : A 45-year-old woman died of swine flu infection here, taking the number of deaths due to the H1N1 virus in the city this year to three, a district health official said on Wednesday. The woman passed away on Tuesday at a private hospital.

            The Madhya Pradesh health department has sounded alert after one swine flu death was reported in the state capital during the past 24 hours, senior health officials said here on Wednesday.

            Indore has already reported four swine flu deaths so far this year (six according to PTI - Ro), triggering fears of its spread in other parts of the state. Seven deaths were reported from Bhopal last year.

            Chief medical and health officer (CMHO) Bhopal Pankaj Shukla said the victim was a 35-year-old woman resident of Vidisha who had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bhopal for the past few days.
