Patna/Muzaffarpur: With the onset of summer, the fear of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) seems to grip Bihar, especially in the northern part of the state, which mainly reports cases among children with the onset of summer. Five cases related to AES and one death have been reported so far this year, while two suspected cases are undergoing treatment at SKMCH in Muzaffarpur. Dr Gopal Shankar Sahni, Deputy Superintendent and Head of Pediatrics Department of the hospital said that a patient is an eight-year-old child of Bandra block of Muzaffarpur, he has 104 degree fever. The other is Motihari's almost three-year-old child. Both have symptoms of AES, though a final report is awaited, which is likely to come by Monday...
