    NEW DELHI, May 28 (Xinhua) -- After the southern state of Kerala, another Indian state -- Goa in the west -- Monday got its first suspected case of Nipah.

    Goa's Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane told the media that the suspected Nipah virus-infected patient, who travelled to the state from Kerala by a train, has been quarantined in the Goa Medical College, a government hospital.

    "It is not clear yet whether it is a Nipah case. We will have to wait for test results. The person admitted himself to the hospital, after he felt he had some symptoms similar to those affected by Nipah and he has been kept in the isolation ward," he said...

    PANJIM: A 20-year old male from Kerala has been kept in ?isolation? at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) as he is suspected to be suffering from the Nipah virus. The authorities, however, said there is no need to panic as the infection has not yet been confirmed.
    The patient who was passing through Goa by a train from Kerala and was heading to Uttar Pradesh saw his health condition deteriorating when he reached Tivim railway station on Monday morning. After he fell unconscious at the railway station, he was initially referred to Asilo hospital in Mapusa and from there to GMC, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

      Kerala patient in Goa hospital tests negative for Nipah virus
      The man, who was passing through Goa and heading to UP, had fallen unconscious at the coastal state's Thivim station, following which he was admitted to Goa Medical College and Hospital.

      PANAJI: A Kerala-based man, who was kept under observation at a hospital in Goa after showing symptoms of Nipah virus, has tested negative for the deadly infection.

      The blood samples of the patient, sent for testing to the National Institute of Virology in Pune, have come out negative for the virus, Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said today.

      "The tests of the patient's samples by molecular and serological methods are negative for Nipah," Rane added.
