      Gujarat: Farmer dies of Congo fever, family under observation
      The first case of the viral fever was reported in Rajkot in the year 2009, and cases have been coming to light every year since.

      A day after a dairy farmer from Padadhari taluka of Rajkot district died at Rajkot Civil Hospital, health officers on Sunday said that his blood and urine samples had tested positive for Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF). This is the second case of the viral fever from Rajkot district this year.


      Officers of the health department of Rajkot district panchayat said that a 42-year-old dairy farmer from Sajadya village had complained of fever and had been admitted to a private hospital. He was shifted to the civil hospital in Rajkot on Saturday, after doctors suspected that he could have contacted CCHF.

      However, he died on Saturday itself, even as doctors were waiting for the reports of laboratory tests of his blood and urine samples, which had been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune.

        Jodhpur: A 15-year-old boy suspected to be suffering from Congo fever died in Rajasthan's Jodhpur district on Saturday, officials said.

        Rahul, a resident Jethantari village near Balotra town of Barmer district, was admitted to a local hospital for symptoms akin to the Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) and later shifted to the MDM hospital in Jodhpur, an official said.


        The teenager was under treatment at the isolation ward of the hospital, but his family members decided to take him away to Ahmedabad against medical advice, said Kamlesh Choudhary, the chief medical and health officer (CMHO) of Barmer.

            Bhavnagar: Congo fever has lifted its head again in Bhavnagar district. The 53-year-old median, who lives and farms in Sonargarh, has died in the health system of death due to Congo fever. This is the fifth death from Congo fever in the last 9 months in Bhavnagar district.


            He was admitted to Bhavnagar Hospital with the effect of dengue

            A 53-year-old middle-aged patient, residing in Sonargarh village of Bhavnagar and affiliated with the ranch, was shifted to Sir Tea Hospital in Bhavnagar under the influence of dengue. Where he also knew the effects of Congo fever, his treatment of Congo fever was started and his report was sent yesterday for testing and his report came out positive and he died today. Meanwhile, the Congolese Feverpi died in the middle of the day, their bodies were packing according to the official guide line and handed over to his family for the funeral.

              Cases of fever, headache, myalgia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
              reported from Village Halvad, PHC Tikar, Block Halvad.
              Central, State and District RRT investigated the outbreak.
              House to house survey done in the affected village. All the
              cases worked in a private plastic firm. Out of 3 serum samples
              collected and sent to NIV, Pune; 2 samples were positive for
              CCHF (IgM ELISA) and the same samples were found
              negative for CCHF (RT-PCR). One death occurred in a 20yr
              old male.
              Contacts were traced and 13 blood samples were
              collected and sent to NIV, Pune; all samples were found
              negative for CCHF. Animal Husbandry team collected; 9
              cattle samples and sent to NIV, Pune; blood samples were
              found negative for CCHF. Entomological survey done and 5
              tick pool samples were collected and sent to NIV, Pune; all
              samples were found negative for CCHF. Cases were treated
              symptomatically. Anti-tick measures were carried out in the
              affected area. De-ticking of cattle was done. Deltamethrin
              spraying done in the affected area.

              Surveillance
              Cases of fever, headache, myalgia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
              reported from Village Timbada, SC Khambhada, PHC
              Salanpur, Block Barwala. Central, State and District RRT
              investigated the outbreak. All the 2 serum samples collected
              and sent to NIV, Pune; were positive for both CCHF (RT
              -PCR) and CCHF (IgM ELISA).
              One death occurred in a 45yr
              old female.
              10 blood samples of contacts were collected and
              sent to NIV, Pune; 1 sample was found positive for CCHF.
              Animal Husbandry team collected; 5 cattle samples and sent
              to NIV, Pune; 2 blood samples were found positive for
              CCHF. Entomological survey done and 5 tick pool samples
              were collected and sent to NIV, Pune; all samples were found
              negative for CCHF. Cases were treated symptomatically.
              Anti-tick measures were carried out in the affected area. De
              -ticking of cattle was done. Deltamethrin spraying done in the
              affected area.

              03 cases 02 fatalities 23-08-19 Under
              Surveillance
              Cases of fever, headache, myalgia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
              reported from Village Zamadi, PHC Boradi, Block Limadi.
              Central, State and District RRT investigated the outbreak.
              Initially two cases 55yr old and 75yr old female were reported
              RT
              -PCR and (IgM ELISA) positive at NIV Pune, both of
              them died during the course of illness.
              13 blood samples of
              contacts were collected and sent to NIV, Pune; 1 sample was
              found RT
              -PCR positive for CCHF. Animal Husbandry team
              collected; 9 cattle samples and sent to NIV, Pune; 2 blood
              samples were found positive for CCHF. Entomological survey
              done and 9 tick pool samples were collected and sent to NIV,
              Pune; all samples were found negative for CCHF. Cases were
              treated symptomatically. Anti
              -tick measures were carried out

                  presented with high grade fever and headache. The deceased
                  was a 40 year old female. A total of 18 human serum samples,
                  06 animal blood samples and 06 tick samples collected and
                  sent to NIV Pune. 02 blood samples were found positive for
                  CCHF by RT PCR. Cases treated symptomatically. Health
                  education given. Insecticide spraying over animals and
                  households, deltaforce liquid for washing animals,
                  Malathion+lime powder dusting in 109 houses with domestic
                  animals by Animal husbandry department.

                  positive for CCHF. Active case search done. A total of 03
                  close contacts were found and monitored for any symptoms.
                  Deticking of livestock was done by Veterinary department.
                  Indoor residual spraying done in the affected area. Health
                  education given.

                    Jaitalsar: The health department has set fire to the village of Pipalwa village of Jaitalsar diocese three days ago when the elderly man who was stranded in the Congo Fever died after being treated at Jetpur and then in a private hospital in Rajkot.


                    He was being treated at a private hospital in Rajkot

                    Dhirubhai Narashibhai Savlia (65), who lives in Pipalwa village of Jaitalsar diocese, was shifted to a private hospital in Rajkot for further treatment after receiving various reports of fever following primary fever. He was rushed to Pipalwa village where the health department team died while undergoing treatment.

                    The deceased has three sons in progeny

                    According to details received from the family of the deceased, Dhirubhai has three sons. They were associated with farming. His accidental death has brought grief to the Patel community. It is noteworthy that Dhirubhai had fogged the health system immediately after the Congo fever positive, and the veterinarian staff took steps to prevent the disease from progressing by vaccinating about 1,000 animals with the necessary medicine.

                                Jetalsar. District RRT investigated the outbreak. House to
                                house survey conducted. The deceased was a 65y/M who had
                                contact with livestock, during which he was probably bitten
                                by tick and was also a K/C/O NIDDM. The samples were
                                tested at NIV, Pune; it was positive for anti CCHF IgM
                                ELISA, urine sample was negative. Anti tick measures taken
                                by Health and Animal husbandry department. A total of 03
                                close contacts were kept under observation. Health education
                                given on disease prevention.
