King George's Medical University says it's Acute Encephalitis Syndrome , CMO denies
                      TNN | Jun 25, 2018, 08:38 IST
                      LUCKNOW:
More than a week after five people died mysteriously in a Nagram village because of an unidentified medical condition, a team of doctors from King George's Medical University claimed that the blood samples and throat swabs collected from other villagers indicated the presence of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES).

                      ...
In the letter, CMO said that the villagers whose samples were collected had already been vaccinated for Japanese Encephalitis (JE).
"As JE vaccination leads to the production of its antibodies, they will test positive for the condition. But no person, whose sample was collected by KGMU, has shown any sign or symptom of the disease or of AES till now. The beginning and end of their disease is not like AES either. This proves that KGMU's report is far from facts," reads the letter.
Earlier in June, five people, including four children, had died in a span of one week in Amwa Murtizapur village of Nagram from an unknown disease. The victims reportedly died after complaining of diarrhoea and fever.
