Scientists of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) discussed in detail about the causes of AES during a doctor-scientific dialogue held at the National Institute of Virology in the BRD Medical College campus on Friday. He told that the acute encephalitis syndrome i.e. AES is no longer absurd. 60% of AES patients have symptoms of scrub typhus virus.

Dr. Nivedita Gupta, a scientist of ICMR, said that the biggest problem in the treatment of infections of the patients of Inseflitis was the identification of the virus. 80% of acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) patients were not aware of the cause of the disease. But in the last two years it has had a great success during research. In the research study, 60% of AES patients have symptoms of scrub detection of stroke. During the dialogue, the President of the Department of Pediatrics of BRD, Mahima Mittal also supported it. Dr. Mahima gave a presentation on the basis of the reports of blood samples of patients admitted for the last two years. He said that the report of blood samples of patients was astonishing. The scrub typhus virus was found not only in children but also in adults. During this time Dr. N. VP Bondre presented a figure of the past decade. He said that so far this year, 240 samples of blood samples of 240 patients were checked in the NIV. The shocking thing is that in this seven scans titanium viruses were found in Japanese encephalitis and seven patients' blood samples. In the dialogue, Commissioner Anil Kumar, Medical College Principal Prof. Apart from Dr. Rajeev Mishra, AD Health Dr. Pushkar Anand, Dr. Manoj Murehkar, Dr. Ashok Pandey, Dr. Kafil Khan and CMO of Gorakhpur, Deoria, Maharajganj and Kushinagar etc. were present. Comment: To July 15 of last year, BRD hospital in Gorakhpur had seen 287 patients with 80 fatalities. This year 261 patients with 83 fatalities. It seems that, so far, the treatment changes have not improved patient outcomes. Time will tell. - Ro

Significantly, Odisha had hit the national headlines last year for serial child deaths in Malkangiri, and which also had a political toll on the ruling BJD when it lost to the BJP in the panchayat polls. Data for 2017 reveals continuance of the trend as till May end Odisha has reported a total of over 510 encephalitis cases and the death burden for the same period stood at over 60.
