Fresh cases of dengue surface in Chittoor
STAFF REPORTER CHITTOOR APRIL 14, 2017 00:00 IST
      UPDATED: APRIL 14, 2017 04:36 IST

Seven cases reported from Timmasamudram, Perindesam

With fresh cases of dengue reported from Timmasamudram and Perindesam villages of KVB Puram mandal on Thursday, officials of the medical and health wing find it difficult to tackle the menace, though they have renewed medical camps. These two villages reported three dengue deaths and over 50 positive cases in March.

The virus created panic in Timmasamudram village, with every family having a person suffering from dengue or viral fever in the last few weeks. After the situation turned worse in the last week of March, officials launched anti-larval drive and conducted medical camps, besides organising ?kala jatas? (awareness camps through cultural activities). In spite of this, in the first week of April, 20 cases, believed to be of viral fevers, were reported, and all were rushed to hospitals in Srikalahasti and Tirupati. In this backdrop, seven positive cases of dengue were noticed on Thursday.
