Even as the UT Health Department and the municipal corporation have ruled out water contamination in Ram Darbar, 51 new cases of were reported even today from the area. While 27 cases were reported at the local dispensary in Ram Darbar, 10 cases were recorded at the ESI Hospital Ram Darbar, in addition to 15 cases reported at the GMCH-32.
The number of cases reported yesterday was 66 and officials in the Health Department stated that the infection was gradually coming under control.
The UT Health Department ruled out contamination of water supplied in the area. Following the death of a three-year-old boy from the area on Tuesday, the UT Health Department collected water samples and sent them for examination to the Mani Majra laboratory. The report was released today ruling out water contamination. Officials hinted at possibility of contamination through hand pumps and motors installed by individual residents in the area.
