    Budgam, Feb 14: Scores of people have been infected by an unknown skin disease in many villages of Khag and Tangmarg areas of Central Kashmir?s Budgam and Baramulla districts respectively.
    According to reports, few days back during a medical camp organised by army?s 35 Rashtriya Rifles and Border Area Development Programme (BADP) Mobile Medical Team at Hamchipora Khag, some cases of skin disease were treated by the doctors. ?The patients complained of severe rashes and itching on the skin and in few days hundreds of similar cases surfaced in the adjoining Gogaldara area which falls in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district. This skin disease has now spread over to few more villages of Khag and Tangmarg areas,? reports said...

    The team led by Block Medical Officer Tangmarg collected the samples of sputum from the area as many people complained of some respiratory disease as well.

      The caption to the news report at this link dated Jan 11; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm0anRvrjP8 suggests that chest and skin illnesses have been going on for at least several weeks in Jammu & Kashmir.


      After a months-long dry spell , Azad jammu and Kashmir received rainfall and its high altitude mountains received the snowfall...
      Dry spell of more than three months had resulted a drought like situation.rainfall not only washed out the dust and pollution but also resulted increase of water in the natural water reservoirs.

      much awaited rainfall also helped people to get rid of the chest and skin epidemics.

      Mercury has dropped down in the Azad jammu and Kashmir after the rainfall.

      People in Muzaffarabad offered thanks giving prayers for the blessing.

        Skin, respiratory diseases outbreak in Bandipora villages
        Doctors reach affected areas

        Bandipora, Apr 7: Scores of people have been infected by outbreak of some skin and respiratory diseases in many villages here.
        Reports said scabies like skin disease was spreading fast among people mostly children in various hamlets including Chuntwari, Benlipora and Ketsan in Aloosa Block of Bandipora.
        Inhabitants of the affected villages said children there are suffering with severe rashes and itching on skin.
        Chuntiwari village, which comprises of 60 households, is the worst hit with over 50 people affected by skin diseases.
        Meanwhile, in Chaknar village, 10 inhabitants are suffering with some respiratory constant cough, fewer and vomiting.
