Village in grip of mystery fever

KANPUR: Doctors at Mawaiya village in Ramabai Nagar district are clueless about the mystery fever. A girl had died and have other persons have falled ill.
Doctors at the primary health centre in Maitha block have approached experts at the district hospital in Mati. A team of doctors visited the area and took stock of the situation.
Medical superintendent, Maitha block, VP Singh said that a team of doctors had visited Mawaiya village and found that unhygienic conditions are prevailing there. "All the cases are being suspected as fever due to mosquito bite. We have now sought help from the district malaria department," he said.
The health official admitted that so far a girl named as Himanshi, daughter of Yogesh Kumar Rathore had died of the mystery fever. Goldie (16), Shivam (7), Bansika (2), Radha (9) and Maya Devi (20) are undergoing treatment.
"We haven't been able to find out the exact cause of the fever. Since we do not have the facility for conducting tests. We have informed the senior health authorities," a doctor said.
