Doctors at Patna's IGIMS remove cricket ball-sized black fungus from man's brain
The 60-year-old man had a cricket ball-sized mucormycosis or black fungus which was successfully removed by doctors at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Bihar’s capital Patna.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the surgery took place on Friday and went on for over three hours. The patient, Anil Kumar from Jamui, is currently stable. He had recently recovered from Covid-19 but later contracted black fungus.
