On Monday, India added 82,170 cases and 1,039 deaths due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) disease which pushed the tally to over six million, as per the Union health ministry’s dashboard. The active cases have climbed to 962,640 whereas over five million people have recovered so far. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh continue to be the five worst-affected states.
