We have sent the sample to Bhopal for reconfirmation and it has found positive H5N1 virus, commonly known as bird flu, after reexamination on Friday," said GS Jakhar, director general of Haryana animal husbandry department.
Even as pollution has choked the national capital region, the scare of avian flu continues to haunt everyone. And now Haryana too is affected by it with nine ducks found dead at Hisar's Blue Bird Tourist Complex.
It appears initially the birds were reported as H5N8 strain on Thursday but upon reexamination on Friday were classified as H5N1 strain:

Samples were collected and sent after several geese were found dead in the lake.

Haryana is considered a winter home for thousands of migratory birds, and the Sultanpur National Park in Gurgaon district has traditionally been an avian haven. Besides Sultanpur, Bhindawas in Jhajjar, Kalesar in Yamunanagar, and the wetland along the Yamuna river is a natural habitat for migratory birds. Confirming the development, Amrinder Kaur, principal chief conservator of forests, Haryana, said the decision was taken after receiving information from the state veterinary department, and necessary instructions have been issued by the state wildlife department.

Around 150 ducks were culled in Hisar district of Haryana on Friday to prevent spread of bird flu after samples of dead birds from a local resort tested positive for avian influenza.
The Haryana animal husbandry department re-issued "Action Plan Preparedness Control and Containment of Avian Influenza Revised March 2015" pdf on October 25, 2016 as "most urgent" after recent bird flu outbreaks in various parts of India. link
