Dengue claims one life in city

RAJKOT: A patient died of dengue after five days of treatment at a private hospital here on Wednesday.
According to officials of Doshi hospital, the deceased, identified as Jignesh Gohil, lived in Shivshakti area of Veraval town and was first admitted to Mile Stone hospital after he developed severe fever, abdomen ache and diarrhoea on May 23.
"After he was diagnosed with dengue, Gohil was shifted to Doshi hospital, where he was admitted to intensive care unit. He died on Wednesday morning," said an official.
Meanwhile, a woman has also been diagnosed with dengue and shifted to Rajkot Civil Hospital. The officials there have identified the patient as Punam Pravin from Sankheda. So far, Rajkot district has recorded 36 cases of dengue.
