L??chantillon a ?t? pr?lev? sur un canard colvert sauvage le 27 d?cembre 2016 au cours du programme de surveillance de l?influenza aviaire chez les oiseaux sauvages ramass?s par les chasseurs. Les r?sultats du s?quen?age du g?nome montrent que le virus isol? au Montana est un virus eurasien/am?ricain H5N2 de l?influenza aviaire hautement pathog?ne. Les fragments du g?nome partiel test?s ? ce jour sont plus de 99% identiques au virus isol? chez un canard pilet dans l?Etat de Washington en d?cembre 2014. Les virus H5N2 de 2015 ?taient tous plus de 99% identiques au cas chez le canard pilet (A/Northern pintail/Washington/40964/2014 H5N2). Des efforts visant ? obtenir des donn?es de la s?quence du g?nome complet sont en cours. Cette d?tection d?un virus eurasien/am?ricain H5N2 de l?influenza aviaire hautement pathog?ne chez un oiseau sauvage n?est pas associ?e ? des volailles commerciales aux ?tats-Unis.
