Update on H1N1 Flu Cases
Six new confirmed cases, one probable
Lincoln ? Six new confirmed cases of novel H1N1 influenza have been reported among Nebraska residents since the last news release was issued on Tuesday, May 12, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. This brings the total number of confirmed Nebraska cases to 27.
One case is currently pending confirmation at the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory.
New probable case: 1 (Douglas County male in his 40s)
New confirmed cases: 6 (Five in Madison County ? four females and one male, all ages 5-18; one in Platte County ? female in her 50s)
In addition to Nebraska resident cases, two non-resident cases have been identified in Nebraska ? one each from California and Missouri.
DHHS is now issuing a weekly news release to update the numbers each Friday.
