    May 12, Indiana: New Novel H1N1 Flu Cases Confirmed


    The Indiana State Department of Health reports nine new confirmed cases of the novel H1N1 flu in the following counties: Hamilton (1), Lake (1), Marion (4), Porter (2), and Tippecanoe (1). This brings the total number of cases of the novel H1N1 flu in Indiana to 70, with the following county breakdown:
    • Elkhart (2)
    • Hamilton (1)
    • Hendricks (1)
    • Lake (17)
    • Madison (1)
    • Marion (38)
    • Porter (3)
    • Putnam (3)
    • St. Joseph (2)
    • Tippecanoe (2)

      The Indiana State Department of Health reports one new confirmed case of the novel H1N1 flu in the following county: Porter (1). This brings the total number of cases of the novel H1N1 flu in Indiana to 71, with the following county breakdown:

      Elkhart (2)
      Hamilton (1)
      Hendricks (1)
      Lake (17)
      Madison (1)
      Marion (38)
      Porter (4)
      Putnam (3)
      St. Joseph (2)
      Tippecanoe (2)

      The breakdown of confirmed cases by age group (years), include:
      • 0-4 (16)
      • 5-24 (43)
      • 25-64 (12)
      • 65+ (0)
      There are currently no reported hospitalizations or deaths associated with the novel H1N1 influenza A virus in Indiana.
      The Indiana State Department of Health will report any new confirmed cases of H1N1 by 10:00 a.m. each weekday. Consumers can visit the www.in.gov/flu for more information about the novel H1N1 outbreak.

          The Indiana State Department of Health reports 15 new confirmed cases of the novel H1N1 flu in the following counties: Daviess (1), Lake (5), Marion (8), and Tippecanoe (1). This brings the total number of cases of the novel H1N1 flu in Indiana to 86, with the following county breakdown:

                There has been a total of 30 hospitalizations associated with the novel H1N1 influenza A virus in Indiana since April 20, 2009. There are currently no reported deaths associated with the novel H1N1 influenza A virus in Indiana.
