  • Antigenic and genetic characteristics of H5N1 human vaccine candidate viruses. Clade 7 proposed, not prepared

September 2008 WHO discussion and listing of candidate H5N1 vaccine viruses
with a passing mention of Clade 7.

Good tables at the end listing approved human vaccine virus preparations and those awaiting approval. Clade 7 had been proposed at that time, but no preparation made.

Any more recent activity with Clade 7 for preparation of avian or human vaccines?

Influenza evovles to ESCAPE vaccines. Using an old isolate from 2002 makes ZERO sense. H5N1 is in China, not Kansas, and evolution is alive and well.
