  • Why do not make vaccines mandatory?

Recent developments in the field of infectious epidemic illustrated the difficulty of acceptance, and even more to understand the issues of infection risks and their consequences, so the justification of vaccinations performed perfectly. Pandemic influenza A (H1N1) has shown the shortcomings of a campaign that might appear legitimate and that was a failure. Similarly, the measles epidemic that hit recently, particularly in France, showed a lack of coverage. The foresight studies had clearly shown, however, that the epidemic risk exist if a better protection of the population was not performed. The consequences of such facts are as heavy as an individual to the community. Also, the temptation to advocate a return to mandatory vaccination for certain vaccinations, exists. Is it really justified? We must examine the arguments for and against.
