  • Tips for Working with Adobe .pdfs

I recently found a really helpful tool in Adobe. I don't know if it's always been there or not; but it's new to me so I thought I'd share.

In the latest version, there is a comment feature which gives the option of adding a sticky note or highlighting text. I think the .pdf must be downloaded to your HD for this to work.

The sticky note has a text box for any comments you want to put in. Each time you add a note or highlight text, your action shows up on the right hand side in the order you did it. It lists which action you chose and the page number, date and time. It also shows any comments you made in the sticky note.

For anyone wading through 60 page .pdfs and trying to keep track of important points, this is a wonderful convenience. Thank you Adobe

I experimented a little with the Read Out Loud feature found in the View option. The voice leaves a lot to be desired but you can buy and download better voices.

For those of you who prefer text to .pdfs, I found a site that offers .pdf conversion to text (as well as some other conversion options) and is really simple to use.

Convert any PDF file into Text. You can convert your PDF file to Text (.txt) file from our free tool, online and for free, or by using our desktop version for windows.
