    I wonder if this interesting observation is related? Pugach's work is cited in the unified field paper I just posted.

    ...It must also be noted that both of the eclipses were only optically visible on the opposite side of the Earth (in Australia and in the Pacific). However this did not prevent our devices “feeling” these events. Consequently, the body of the Earth appears not to be any obstacle for some carrier that transports torque and that causes the disk of the torsind and the plane of the oscillation of the pendulum to rotate. The unusual properties of this carrier have yet to be explored. We can only acknowledge its presence and emphasize that most clearly such a carrier manifests itself in times of syzygys.

    9. Conclusions

    New phenomena have been found that were unknown before organized torsind-pendulum observations.

    This work raises the important question of the practical detection of latent vortex-like mechanical energy radiating from the Sun. This energy is not related to electromagnetism. It implies that a torsion component is present as a solar influence. The evidence found quite clearly points to this conclusion. During solar eclipses the disk of a torsind rotates and the plane of oscillation of a Foucault pendulum deviates. Classical astrophysical instruments such as spectrometers, photometers, polarimeters and so on are not appropriate for study of these phenomena. The observed effects cannot be explained in the framework of gravitation or electromagnetism and it is surmised that they may indicate a manifestation of a fifth fundamental interaction.

      I had not heard of torsind pendulums before, but they are similar to torque pendulums, but with a key difference in the structure of the suspending fibre (see https://www.researchgate.net/profile...servations.pdf ).

      It is difficult to see how their findings could be related to the g-2 anomaly, for various reasons including
      - Muon primary source being generated via particles from outside the solar system
      - Inability to penetrate to any great depth through rock
      - Low flux at earths surface due to short half-life (millionths of a second)

      It looks like there is yet another unknown for us to know, but this time its source is clearly from our sun and partially blocked by mass.
      Setting up a torsind at fermilab or CERN could see is if any of their exotic particles correlate to its perturbations in background, and if so which.
      Setting up a torsind pair, on opposite sides of the planet, could give an indication of how much the signal is attenuated by mass during an eclipse.

        Thanks, JJackson. Definitely looks like muons don't explain the torsind data. It looks like Ukrainian physicists have a theory about another particle, inertons. Most of this article is over my head, but at least I can pick up on some interesting points.

          Emily - I had not heard of inerton theory either, but did get around to having a quick look last night. Like string theory it seems to be a mathematical construct building toward a Grand Unified Theory (GUT). Conceptually it is fairly straight forward but the mathematical rational is beyond me.           I did not see anything that looked likely to account for the torsind data.

            There are further findings from Fermilab on the muon g-2 runs.
            In short, the experimental error bars have been greatly reduced by hardware and analysis refinements down to 203ppb. It is unclear if this is enough to clear the 5 sigma bar due to differences in theory interpretation, which leaves it with the large error bars. This problem should be resolved in the next few years.
