    The avian influenza A H3N8 virus found in harbor seals can potentially spread through respiratory droplets and therefore it poses a threat to humans. This is according to a new study.
    The avian H3N8 virus was isolated by scientists investigating the deaths of more than 160 harbor seals around the coast of New England back in 2011. The harbor seal is found along temperate and Arctic marine coastlines of the Northern Hemisphere.
