    From the last report until 6 pm, on March 13, 2020, samples of 17 people were tested, 6 of which were positive and 11 negative for the new corona virus."

    Thus, the number of cases registered by 8 am on March 14, 2020, increased to 41.

    By 8 a.m. on March 14, 2020, a total of 256 individuals were tested in the national reference laboratory of the Torlak Institute, which met the criteria of the case definition.

    Four were housed in isolation with a less severe clinical picture, while two were kept in hospital without any complications, in a stable general condition.

    The number of coronavirus cases in Serbia grows: 8 more people have been infected, 65 in total

    A state of emergency has been in force in Serbia since Sunday evening due this virus
    • Coronavirus has been confirmed in eight more people in Serbia, bringing the number of people ill with the COVID-19 disease to 65.



    "Since the last report at 6 pm on March 16, as of 8 pm on March 17 samples from 19 individuals have been tested, of which eight were positive and 11 negative for coronavirus. Three persons with milder clinical picture are in home isolation, while five are in the hospital, without complications, in a stable general condition," the Ministry of Health announced.

        Another 15 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Serbia bringing the total to 118, the Health Care Ministry said on its covid19.rs web site on Friday.

        The 8:00 am ministry bulletin said that 39 people had been tested since the previous bulletin (6:00 pm on Thursday). It added that five of the 15 patients who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus were hospitalized in generally stable condition with no complications while the other 10 were sent home into self-isolation.

        The Torlak Institute laboratory has tested a total of 545 people who exhibited symptoms of the coronavirus, the covid19.rs web site said.

          Serbia on Friday confirmed the first coronavirus-related death in the country.

          Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said a 59-year-old man in the northern autonomous province of Vojvodina died due to the virus.

          "A few hours ago, a 59-year-old man from Kikinda died at the Clinical Center of Vojvodina in Novi Sad. He had many other health problems," Brnabic said, adding that eight more people were in critical condition.

          Brnabic said the man contracted the virus from another male patient currently in critical condition.

          With 17 new infections reported on Friday, the national tally has risen to 135, according to Serbia's Health Ministry...

                  BELGRADE (Serbia), March 26 (SeeNews) - Serbia has confirmed two more deaths from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on its territory, bringing the death toll to six, while the total number of infected people rose to 384 as of March 25, the health ministry said on Thursday.

                  A patient who passed away was born in 1940 and was put on mechanical ventilation breathing in the past few days;he suffered from cardiomyopathy, had hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes mellitus, the health ministry said in a statement.

                  "The other patient is a female born in 1958, who was hospitalised at the Clinical Center Nis. She was on ventilator and under the constant care of medical teams, who had done everything to save her, but there was still a lethal outcome. She had chronical arterial hypertension and diabetes, as well as rheumatoid arthritis," the ministry said.

                  On Wednesday evening, the health ministry said that 81 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed during the day, bringing the total count to 384, as the country launched mass testing for the disease among the population upon recommendation of Chinese epidemiologists.

                  Health minister Zlatibor Loncar announced the first case of COVID-19 in the country on March 6.

                        BELGRADE, March 29 (Reuters) - Octogenarian Ceda Filipovic awoke at 5am (0300 GMT), donned his mask and and set of for one of the Belgrade supermarkets opening at dawn for the city’s elderly.

                        When Serbia introduced a state of emergency two weeks ago in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus outbreak, the authorities banned all those over 65 years from venturing outdoors but said some supermarkets will be opened every Sunday at 4am for the elderly only to allow them to buy staple produce.

                        The government has introduced a general curfew from 5pm until 5am to reduce contact between people.

                        Filipovic said he has come to terms with the isolation.

                          Currrently there are 900 positive cases of coronavirus COVID-19 in the Republic of Serbia.

                          Until 31.03.2020, the National reference laboratory of Torlak Institute tested 3561 people who fulfilled the criteria for testing (staying in the area of intensive transmission of virus and presence of symptoms of infection of the respiratory tract).

                          Since the last report on 30.03.2020 at 15:00, 477 persons were tested, and 115 of them were positive.

                              n the last 24 hours, 111 more people were tested in the National Torlak Institute Laboratory to push a total to 1,117 infected with coronavirus in Serbia, and 31 one people died, the official covid19.rs website reported on Thursday.

                              Since the last report on Wednesday, three more people died bringing the death toll the total to 31.

                              A total of 637 persons were tested, 111 positive.

                              Unlike the other days, the members of the Crisis team did not hold a news conference, but the data were only available on the website.

                              On Wednesday, 28 people were reported dead.
