Another three people with the illness ? a child and two adults ? are being treated at the city?s Glenfield hospital.
Patients infected with the H1N1 flu strain of influenza ? commonly known as swine flu ? were given antiviral drugs and put into isolation.
The wards involved in the outbreak have been closed.
Dr Philip Monk, a Public Health England consultant, said: ?Patients on these wards have very little immunity, it was decided to swab all patients and 14 were confirmed as positive.?
