Six children on a high-dependency unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary have been diagnosed with swine flu.
Bosses at Leicester's hospitals said the outbreak had been brought under control and all the patients involved were "doing well".
Dr David Jenkins, deputy director of infection prevention and control for Leicester's hospitals, said: "A small number of patients on ward 12 at the infirmary were recently diagnosed with flu.
"Those affected received appropriate treatment and were nursed separately from other patients.
