This report was published March 17, 2016 and reported influenza situation week 10, in 2016.

    Summary Week 10

Flu epidemic continued to decline in Sweden in week 10. For the first time this season dominated the influenza B, rather than influenza A. In week 10 reported a total of 481 cases, including 251 cases and 230 influenza B cases influenza A. Influenza A continues to steadily decline while increase in influenza B has leveled off over the previous week. Of the samples with influenza B, which belongs to the majority linjetypats B / Victoria. The shift to dominance of influenza B and influenza A (H1N1) pdm09 also occurs in the rest of Europe and Scandinavia.
In fyrvalenta vaccine given to children include two influenza A strains (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B line types (B / Victoria and B / Yamagata), but in the trivalent vaccine for adults are not influenza B / Victoria. Since the spread of influenza B / Victoria increased, we want to care highlight the importance of continuing to be generous with antiviral treatment for people with suspected influenza who are severely ill or belong to a risk group for severe influenza illness.
