                            Influenza Report

This report was published February 26, 2015 and reports the flu situation Week 8 (16-22 / 2).

                            Summary weeks 8, 2015

Influenza activity remained at a high level, but the increase appears to have slowed down. During week 8 were reported more laboratory-confirmed cases than the peak week during the season 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. The increase in the number of cases of influenza A (H3N2) has declined while the number of cases of influenza B continues to increase. A similar trend is also seen in the rest of Europe and North America. This week's report includes a special section on WHO's recommendation on next season's vaccine strains.
