  • Abruzzo - Italy: 3 deaths from influenza H1N1

PEOPLES. Two deaths and a third person in intensive care for the same reason: the H1N1 virus, better known as swine flu. Happens to the Peoples Hospital where the outcome of lab tests done within the same hospital have sent into turmoil much of the staff who until a few days ago was not aware of what happened. The first death came ten days ago. The victim was a 51-year-old man who died following complications in the intensive care ward of the hospital popolese. The causes are not clear initially, you decide to do a laboratory diagnosis that indicates the H1N1 virus as the alleged cause of death. Hence the decision to do an autopsy, according to hospital sources, confirms the laboratory diagnosis. A few days after another patient dies after hospitalization in intensive care and this too, as they establish the analysis, from complications of H1N1 influenza. The news began to spread among the employees of the hospital and when, on Friday, in the Department of medicine is admitted a priest of 74 years, physicians immediately think 'swine' in front of the constant worsening of her condition, which is why they decide to ricoverarlo in resuscitation, not before having subjected the swab to check for the presence of viruses. Even in this case it is successful. By medicine physicians communicate the outcome to Resuscitation but denounce different operators, what then is not marked nor the personnel nor the direction Pescara.
