AS IRELAND battles to keep the H1N1 virus pandemic at bay, appointments are being taken at the swine flu vaccination clinic at the rehabilitation unit in St. John's Community Hospital, Enniscorthy.
Anyone wishing to take advantage of the service being offered by the HSE should note that it operates on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on December 18/19, and then again on January 7/8.
The HSE is encouraging people who are medically at risk, children under the age of five and healthcare workers, to contact them to make an appointment in one of their two vaccination clinics in the county ? the other being in Wexford town.
Letters have been sent out to people over the age of 65 inviting them to make an appointment. A schools vaccination programme has commenced so that all school-going childrenwill be offered the vaccine over coming months.
Bookings can be made online at www.swineflu.ie or, in the case of those in receipt of a letter from the HSE, by phoning the number provided in the correspondence.
