  • Ireland: Tests for H1N1 Flu at maternity

The HSE has refused to confirm if Swine Flu has been detected in the maternity unit at Portlaoise hospital.

They did confirm that two women with flu like symptoms have been discharged from the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise.

The HSE told the Leinster Express that ?there is currently no confirmed case in the maternity unit at MRHP with Influenza A(H1) Swine Flu (pandemic ?09)?.

However, when asked if the two patients were tested for Swine Flu, the HSE said: ?The tests were done, appropriate procedures were followed and the patients concerned will be notified of their own results. We do not comment on individual cases for reasons of patient confidentiality.
