    Influenza raging after late start

    Health authorities have reported a 33 per cent increase from last week in visits to the doctor by people complaining of flu symptoms, signaling that the yearly epidemic is under way. Over 20,000 people visited doctors, with the largest numbers in Pest, Zala and Tolna counties.
    The epidemic has broken out later than usual according to Dr. ?va D?nos of FirstMed Centers and is expected to peak in the coming two or three weeks before ending in late March...

    A growing number of hospitals in Budapest and across Hungary are imposing partial visit bans due to a rise in the numbers of patients with flu-like symptoms.

    According to the National Public Health and Medical Officer's Service there are hospitals in nine counties and an additional 20 Budapest institutions where a partial or full visitation ban was required to prevent the spread of the infection...
