    According to KEELPNO, a total of 373 persons have been hospitalized in intensive care units since the outbreak of the influenza.

      Epidemiological Surveillance of Influenza week 7/2016 (15-21 February 2016)
      The influenza surveillance for the period 2015 - 2016 at the European level and in Greece started
      week 40/2015 (September 28-04 October 2015) and will be completed the week 20/2016 (16-22
      May 2016).
      This report is a weekly summary of epidemiological data in our country, for
      week 7/2016 (15-21 February 2016).
      ? During week 7/2016 (15-21 February 2016), the doctor visits for flu-like subscription
      They are slightly lower than those of the previous week 7/2016 (Figure 1).
      ? During week 7/2016 (15-21 February 2016) in the National Influenza Reference Laboratories and
      Microbiology Laboratory of the University of Athens, were tested for influenza viruses total of 611 clinical samples, all
      from hospitals. 188 (30.8%) of them were positive for influenza viruses, namely 180 (95.7%)
      were type A and 8 (4.3%) were type B. The 150 strains of type A and ypotypopoiithikan thereof the
      1 (0.6%) belonged to subtype A (H3N2) and 149 (82.8%) in the A subtype (H1N1) pdm09 (Chart 2).
      ? From Week 40/2015 through week 7/2016 (15-21 February 2016) reported 393
      serious outbreaks of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 372 were hospitalized in ICU
      (Table 1, Figure 3). The same time recorded total 123 deaths
      laboratory-confirmed influenza. The 102 deaths were in patients hospitalized in ICU
      and 21 patients without hospitalization in ICU (Table 1, Figure 4).
      ? From week 40/2015 until Thursday, February 25, 2016 (14:00), in Greece echoyn
      recorded 394 serious cases of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 372
      hospitalized in ICU (Table 2). Over the same period recorded a total of 135 deaths
      laboratory-confirmed influenza. The 114 deaths related to patients hospitalized in ICU and
      21 in patients without hospitalization in ICU (Table 2).
      ? Based on the above, the influenza activity in Greece is still high
      levels but showing a downward trend.

        Epidemiological Surveillance of Influenza week 8/2016 (22-28 February 2016)
        The influenza surveillance for the period 2015 - 2016 at the European level and in Greece started

        This report is a weekly summary of epidemiological data in our country, for
        week 8/2016 (22-28 February 2016).
        ? During week 8/2016 (22-28 February 2016), the doctor visits for flu-like subscription
        show further decrease compared with the previous week 8/2016 (Figure 1).
        ? During week 8/2016 (22-28 February 2016) in the National Influenza Reference Laboratories and
        Microbiology Laboratory of the University of Athens, were tested for influenza viruses total of 335 clinical samples all
        from hospitals. 79 (23.6%) of them were positive for influenza viruses and in particular 72 (91.1%)
        were type A and 7 (8.9%) were type B. The 70 strains of type A ypotypopoiithikan namely
        97.2% belongs to subtype A (H1N1) pdm while 2.8% of the samples not ypotypopoiithike
        (Chart 2).
        ? From Week 40/2015 through week 8/2016 (22-28 February 2016) reported 408
        serious outbreaks of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 383 were hospitalized in ICU
        (Table 1, Figure 3). The same time recorded total 146 deaths
        laboratory-confirmed influenza. The 123 deaths were in patients hospitalized in ICU
        and 23 patients without hospitalization in ICU (Table 1, Figure 4).
        ? From week 40/2015 until Thursday 03 March 2016 (15:30), in Greece echoyn
        recorded 410 serious cases of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 385
        hospitalized in ICU (Table 2). Over the same period recorded a total of 157 deaths
        laboratory-confirmed influenza.
        The 133 deaths related to patients hospitalized in ICU and
        24 patients without hospitalization in ICU (Table 2).
        ? Based on the above, the influenza activity in Greece is in a downward phase.

          ? In the week 10/2016 (07-13 March 2016) in the National Influenza Reference Laboratories and
          Microbiology Laboratory of the University of Athens, were tested for influenza viruses total of 245 clinical samples, all
          from hospitals. 35 (14.3%) of them were positive for influenza viruses, namely 20 (57.1%)
          was A and the 15 (42.9%) were type B. The 18 type A ypotypopoiithikan strains, all belonged
          the A subtype (H1N1) pdm (Chart 2).
          ? From week 40/2015 until week 10/2016 (07-13 March 2016) recorded 420
          serious outbreaks of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 395 were hospitalized in ICU
          (Table 1, Figure 3). The same time recorded total 169 deaths
          laboratory-confirmed influenza. The 145 deaths were in patients hospitalized in ICU
          and 24 in a patient without hospitalization in ICU (Table 1, Figure 4).
          ? From week 40/2015 until Thursday, March 17, 2016 (15:30), in Greece echoyn
          recorded 423 serious cases of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 397
          hospitalized in ICU (Table 2). Over the same period recorded a total of 174 deaths
          laboratory-confirmed influenza. The 150 deaths related to patients hospitalized in ICU and
          24 patients without hospitalization in ICU (Table 2).

            week 11/2016 (14-20 March 2016).
            ? In the week 11/2016 (14-20 March 2016), the doctor visits for flu-like subscription
            showing a slight increase compared to last week 10/2016 (Chart 1).
            ? In the week 11/2016 (14-20 March 2016) in the National Influenza Reference Laboratories and
            Microbiology Laboratory of the University of Athens, were tested for influenza viruses by 121 clinical samples all
            from hospitals. 20 (16.5%) of them were positive for influenza viruses, namely 8 (40%) were
            A and 12 (60%) were type B. The eight strains of type A ypotypopoiithikan and all belong to the
            subtype A (H1N1) pdm09 (Scheme 2).
            ? From week 40/2015 until week 11/2016 (14-20 March 2016) recorded 425

            recorded 426 serious cases of laboratory-confirmed influenza, of which 400

                Epidemiological Surveillance of Influenza Week 13/2016 (March 28 - 03 April 2016)


                This report is a weekly summary of epidemiological data in our country, for
                week 13/2016 (March 28 - 03 April 2016).
                ? During the week 13/2016 (March 28 - 03 April 2016) the doctor visits for flu-like
                Assistance has been a decline compared to last week 12/2016 (Chart 1).
                ? During the week 13/2016 (March 28 - 03 April 2016) in the National Influenza Reference Laboratories
                in Microbiology Laboratory of University of Athens, were tested for influenza viruses 131 clinical
                samples, all of the hospitals. 25 (19.1%) of them were positive for influenza viruses, namely
                4 (16%) were type A and 21 (84%) were type B. The four strains of Type A and four ypotypopoiithikan
                (100%) belong to the A subtype (H1N1) pdm09 (Scheme 2).
