Sofia. A child aged 3 years and eight months has died as a result of a severe complication of strain A (H1N1). This was reported for FOCUS News Agency by the chief state health inspector Dr. Angel Kunchev. He explained that the case was registered in Sofia a day and a half ago - on December 28, 2017. "This strain is from the swine flu group and sometimes gives very serious complications. One of them is myocarditis - irritation of the heart muscle, as was in this case," explained Dr. Kunchev. "This is a proven case of swine flu. No surprise. As the flu increases, unfortunately there will be such severe cases," said Dr. Kunchev. According to him, statistics show that severe cases of influenza are below 0.5%.
