Second death related to influenza A (H1N1) in Albania
TIRANA - Albania has made a second death related to influenza virus H1N1, a woman of 47 years who was also ill, said Saturday the Albanian Ministry of Health.
The person who knew for years of chronic lung problems and hypertension was hospitalized in a sanatorium in Tirana has been around for a week, adds the source.
According to the Albanian Institute of Public Health, at least 310 cases of infection by the H1N1 virus have been reported to date in Albania, a country of over three million inhabitants.
A vaccination campaign is expected to begin in mid-December.
The pandemic virus has killed at least 9596 people worldwide since it emerged in March-April last, or 828 more deaths in one week (+9.4%), according to a report published last Friday by the WHO.
