    The incidence of influenza last week remained low, and the incidence of ARI increased slightly, said the Latvian Center Infectology.

    The incidence of acute respiratory disease last week amounted to 1,151.5 persons. per 100 thousand population, in early March - 1144.8 per 100 thousand

    Most children suffer from acute respiratory disease for up to four years - in this age group the incidence of 6177.8 people. per 100 thousand population.

    Increase incidence registered in Jurmala, Riga, Rezekne and Jelgava.

    With suspected influenza were hospitalized, five patients in Riga and Daugavpils, with pneumonia caused by influenza - one patient in Riga. So far only recorded cases of pandemic influenza A (H1N1), and the circulation of seasonal influenza is not started.

    As previously stated Head of Surveillance LTSI Yuri Carriers, experts believe that the new wave of influenza, contrary to previously expressed projected this spring will not.
