A 70-year-old Hungarian man with underlying health conditions was identified as the fifth coronavirus patient in Hungary. Although there were previous cases of the disease in Hungary, they were all foreigners - three Iranian and a British citizen. The elderly man with severe illness was diagnosed earlier today and currently treated in St. László Hospital. He was probably infected by his son who lives abroad and who visited him in mid-February, after visiting Italy and Paris.

BUDAPEST (AFP) - Hungary's nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban said Friday (March 13) that foreigners and migration are to blame for the appearance and spread of coronavirus in Hungary.
Asked during a radio interview why Hungary has closed its universities but not schools in response to the virus outbreak, Mr Orban said it was because "there are lots of foreigners there".
"Our experience is that primarily foreigners brought in the disease, and that it is spreading among foreigners," he said.
So far, Hungary has confirmed 19 cases of infections, nine of them Iranians (mostly university scholarship holders), one British national and the rest Hungarians.
"It's no coincidence that the virus first showed up among Iranians," he said.
"We cannot separate the tens of thousands of foreign students (in Hungary) from the Hungarian students, that's why we thought it best to stop all visits to those institutions," he said.

The Hungarian authorities are refusing to make public information about the cities or regions where the new cases of COVID-19 have been registered, making it hard to know where in Hungary the disease is spreading.
The authorities are currently only disclosing the number of new cases and the nationality of persons who recently tested positive for the virus.
As of Tuesday (17 March), the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen by 11 new registered infections to 50.
Last Thursday (13 March) was the last time the Hungarian authorities shared the age of the diagnosed and details such as where the new patients have been hospitalised.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary has chosen to use the global coronavirus epidemic to fuel xenophobic and anti-migrant rhetoric rather than to focus on developing an actionable plan to deal with it.
