In the last days of last year, a bird was discovered in the city of Galaţi, showing signs of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1. Following the tests performed on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, the disease was confirmed and it was established that we have an outbreak of avian influenza.
It is about a seagull found with signs of disease in the area of Traian Street, no. 6, in the vicinity of block W11.

Three dead swans taken out of the water of Lake Bâtca Doamei

This morning, firefighters were notified that there was a dead swan in the water of Lake Bâtca Doamei.

Firefighters with the help of equipment and means released three dead swans from the lake water.

These were taken over by DSVSA...

Bird flu has been confirmed in 28 swans found dead on the Bâtca Doamnei lake in Piatra Neamţ, announced the Veterinary Sanitary and Food Safety Directorate (DSVSA) Neamţ.
DSVSA Neamţ conveyed, on Friday, through a press release, that the county is affected by the H5N1 avian flu in regard to wild birds.

"At the level of Romania, Neamţ county is affected by the evolution of the highly pathogenic avian influenza, subtype H5N1, in wild birds from Bâtca Doamnei lake, Piatra Neamţ municipality, so far the disease has been diagnosed in a number of 28 swan corpses summer collected from the surface of the lake by DSVSA Neamt staff with the support of the representative of the National Agency for Natural Protected Areas and ISU Neamţ. The area of Piatra Neamţ municipality, Bâtca Doamnei lake, is an area with a loaded epidemiological history in terms of the evolution of highly pathogenic avian influenza, in 2017 a number of 52 cases were diagnosed, and in the spring of 2022 another seven cases were registered of avian influence", transmitted DSVSA Neamţ...

There is a bird flu alert in Suceava county. Fifteen swans and a wild duck were found dead on the Acumularea Fălticeni pond, within the range of a hunting ground.

On Tuesday, January 3, a new case of bird flu was diagnosed, in a flock of 15 swans, found dead on the Acumularea Fălticeni pond, within the range of a hunting fund in Suceava county, ANSVSA announces. The first samples taken show that the birds had the H5N1 virus. For now, bird flu has not reached people's households. But the breeders are asked to notify the authorities if they observe any sign of disease that they see in the birds.

In order to avoid the spread of the virus at national level, the National Veterinary Sanitary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) sent warnings to all territorial structures.
