Bird flu found in Poland
01.12.2007 12:42 Two cases of bird flu have been detected in the Brudzen area, near Plock, central Poland .
Head of the Crisis Management Team in Polock, Hilary Januszczyk has said that the bird flu has been found in two turkey farms.
Laboratory tests reveal that the strain of bird flu is the H5N1 strain, the same as was detected in two swans in March this year.
The area of infection has been identified and isolated.

Since 2003, 94 people have died after contracting bird flu.
