Following the location of an avian influenza outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N9 in a guinea fowl rearing located in the municipality of Labastide Gabausse in the Tarn, the prefect decided immediately deploying protective measures to prevent the risk of spreading . the disease from that home
poultry breeding this will be a complete slaughter, and the buildings will be cleaned and disinfected.
a regulated perimeter is set up, consisting of: a protection zone of 3 km around the focus on the municipalities of Blaye-les-Mines, Combefa, Gabausse Labastide-Saint-Beno?t de Carmaux, Ta?x; and a 10 km surveillance zone around the outbreak on common Almayrac, Cagnac-les- mines Carmaux, Castanet, Le Garric, Lescure of Albigensian Livers-Cazelle, Mailhoc, Milhavet, Monesti?s, Rosi?res, St. Gemme, Venues, The Segur, Tr?vien, Valderi?s, Villeneuve-sur-Vere, Virac and St. Croix . in this scope, poultry farms will be identified and will be subject to veterinary visits (clinical monitoring or conducting analysis). biosecurity measures must be strictly enforced. All movement of poultry within, to or from the regulated perimeter is subject to restrictions. Similarly fairs, markets, shows including captive birds are prohibited in this area, as well as game birds releases. Moreover, the prefect of the Tarn request to farmers and other bird owners captives who would see a drop productivity, abnormal mortality, respiratory symptoms, digestive or nervous in their poultry livestock to contact their veterinarian without delay.

According to the National Health Security Agency for Food, Environment and Labour (ANSES), the identified strains are of European origin and not pathogenic for humans. Given the non-transferable nature of the virus to humans, there is no reason for consumers to change their eating habits. For operators and individuals with technical questions on the subject, the Departmental social cohesion and the protection of people set up a telephone number:
