    Affected population On 29 January 2020, low pathogenic avian influenza H5 has been confirmed in a commercial poultry holding with organic laying hens. The layers were tested in accordance with the Danish surveillance programme for avian influenza in poultry. The holding consists of approximately 48.000 organic egg layers. The egg layers at the infected holding will be culled and the carcasses will be disposed by rendering.

    Epidemiological comments The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration has established a restricted zone of 1 km around the holding and are implementing the necessary measures in accordance with Council Directive 2005/94/EC. There are no other commercial poultry holdings within the established restricted zone 1 km around the infected holding. There has been no trade of poultry from the holding to other EU countries or third countries within the last 30 days.
