Avian flu has appeared in the breeding of Perena ducks in Lipoltice in the Pardubice region. The breeder must spend approximately 3,000 pieces of poultry. This is the fifth outbreak of bird flu in the Czech Republic.

"On Saturday evening, I was informed about a new outbreak of bird flu in the region. The Veterinary Administration has issued an extraordinary measure to liquidate the large-scale poultry farm of Perena Lipoltice," said Governor Martin Netolický.

The original condition in the Lipoltice company was approximately 3,500 poultry, with some already dying due to the H5N1 infection.

On the morning of Monday, January 24, professional firefighters and members of the Center for the Elimination of Veterinary Diseases will start liquidating the farm...

Veterinarians discovered an outbreak of bird flu in a small farm in southern Pilsen
        Today, 16:00

The sixth outbreak of bird flu in the Czech Republic was discovered by experts in small poultry farming in Lišice in the southern part of Plzeň. The breeder turned to the crisis line of the State Veterinary Administration (SVS) stating that four turkeys out of four and 14 laying hens out of a total of 42 bred animals died. There were still ten ducks in the breeding.

Veterinarians took samples on site and sent them to the State Veterinary Institute in Prague. "The investigation subsequently confirmed that it is a highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1. The remaining poultry in the breeding was killed in accordance with the legislation. Closed zones around the outbreak were defined and extraordinary veterinary measures were taken in them, " said SVS spokesman Petr Vorlíček .

Malochov is located just a few tens of meters from the pond and about 150 meters from the river Úhlava. It is therefore almost certain that the virus has entered breeding from waterfowl. According to veterinarians, it is also not good when breeding is combined. In this case, it was turkeys and ducks. This year is the first outbreak in the Pilsen region. Last year there were four occurrences and there were always small farms

This year's seventh outbreak of bird flu is in small-scale breeding in Masojedy in the Kolín region

            2022.02.11 | CTK

This year's seventh outbreak of bird flu in the Czech Republic is in small-scale poultry farming in Masojedy in the Kolín region. The breeder reported to the regional veterinary administration the death of 14 laying hens out of the total number of 40 bred and one of the five ducks. The remaining poultry had to be killed, the spokesman of the State Veterinary Administration Petr Vorlíček told ČTK today. This is the first outbreak of bird flu in the Central Bohemian Region this year.

According to Vorlíček, the veterinary inspectors also took preliminary measures after the on-site inspection, the aim of which was to prevent the spread of the disease outside the farm. They also took samples, which they sent for examination to the State Veterinary Institute in Prague. "The investigation later confirmed that it was the H5N1 bird flu. The remaining poultry in the farm was killed today in accordance with the legislation," the spokesman said...

Avian influenza detected on a small poultry farm in the Czech Republic
                    Author: Sebastian Wroniewski 2022-03-15 11:00:00

Avian influenza was detected in a small poultry farm in Přišimasy-Skřivany in the Kolín region. This is the ninth outbreak of the virus confirmed this year in the Czech Republic.

There were 184 poultry in the farm, and all the birds were slaughtered in accordance with the veterinary protocol, said Petr Majer from the State Veterinary Administration. The farm bred geese, chickens, quails, turkeys and ducks. A study at the State Veterinary Institute in Prague confirmed the highly pathogenic H5N1 variant.

Avian flu attacks Czech poultry farms

A month ago, veterinarians from the Kolín region discovered an outbreak of bird flu in Masojed. They discovered new cases during inspections and sampling at farms in the protection zone around the outbreak. Geese, chickens, quails, turkeys and ducks were bred in Přišimasy-Skřivany. A study at the State Veterinary Institute in Prague confirmed the highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza.

“All poultry were slaughtered in accordance with the regulations. Excluded zones have been designated, which partially overlap with the zones around the Masojed fire, and emergency veterinary measures have been announced in them, ”said Majer.

Avian influenza is a viral disease in animals, especially birds, but has also occurred in pigs, dogs and cats. Among wild birds, the most common attacks are swans and mallards, which have been carriers for several centuries, and the virus is not as dangerous for them as it is for poultry. Avian influenza is caused by influenza A viruses. A particularly dangerous virus subtype is H5N1.

A few hundred kilometers away on a duck farm in Jindřichův Hradec, South Bohemia, thousands of ducks have recently died from the bird flu (H5N1) virus. “The source of infection is apparently wild waterfowl. In the Czech Republic, there were two outbreaks of bird flu at the weekend
                                3 hours ago

In the Central Bohemia and South Bohemia regions, two outbreaks of bird flu were added over the weekend. These are small farms in Hrusice near Prague and in Ponědraž in Jindřichohradeck. Examination of the collected samples confirmed that it was avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype. Petr Majer, the deputy spokesman of the State Veterinary Administration, told ČTK today.

Bird flu was confirmed today in another small poultry farm in Hrusice near Prague. "This is already the third farm affected by the disease in the same village," said Majer. A poultry farmer reported the death of seven out of 25 laying hens on Saturday. In addition to them, he has two geese and 14 ducks. "The surviving birds had diarrhea, respiratory difficulties and were apathetic," added the deputy spokesman. Since the examination confirmed the bird flu infection, the veterinarians will cull the remaining poultry.

The farm in Ponědraž is in a three-kilometer protection zone of the previously reported outbreak in Frahelž, where veterinarians eliminated 15,000 ducks from the Mavela Dynín farm due to bird flu at the beginning of the week. It was the largest outbreak of infection ever seen in the South Bohemian Region. Originally, there were more than sixty poultry in the farm in Ponědraž, mainly hens and roosters, but also several ducks. According to him, the breeder noticed an increase in the death of hens and signs of disease in live chickens, and reported the situation to veterinarians. In this case too, the infection was confirmed. This was followed by culling the remaining poultry. Closed zones were defined around the outbreak and veterinary measures were taken in them.

Bird flu is a viral disease of animals, especially birds, but it has also occurred in pigs, dogs and cats. Among wild birds, it most often affects swans and wild ducks, which have been carriers of the disease for several centuries and the virus is not as dangerous for them as it is for poultry. Bird flu, which was already known in the 19th century under the name bird plague, is caused by influenza viruses of type A. A particularly dangerous subtype of the virus is designated H5N1.

Veterinarians euthanized thousands of ducks in a farm in southern Bohemia due to bird flu
Vets today eliminated 15,000 ducks from the Mavela Dynín farm in Frahelž, where avian flu was detected. It is the largest outbreak of infection that has ever been in the region. The infection was preceded by a massive death of birds. Originally, there were 22,000 animals on the farm, 5,000 of them died last week, another two thousand over the weekend. Veterinarians told journalists today.

Veterinarians euthanize 17,000 ducks due to bird flu at a farm in southern Bohemia
Veterinarians will euthanize about 17,000 birds on Monday, December 5 in Frahelž in Jindřichohradecky, where bird flu appeared in the large duck farm of the Mavela Dynín company. The infection was preceded by a massive death of birds, originally there were 22,000 animals on the farm. There is one other large farm in the ten-kilometer surveillance zone, also belonging to the company Mavela Dynín, with 110,000 laying hens.
